About the Event
This workshop will help you pinpoint the individual obstacles that are holding you back in your training and give you strategies to overcome these obstacles and achieve your flexibility goals.
We will cover functional anatomy, alignment, training formulas, and how active release, active and passive stretching, and strength training work together to create the perfect recipe for your training!
This workshop is open to beginner and intermediate benders. You don't have to have a full split or backbend yet. Whether you are working on over-splits or just dreaming of one day doing the splits, we will have progressions and modifications to meet you at your current level and help you get to the next level!
What to wear / bring:
-Wear layered clothing. It’s important to keep muscles warm when training flexibility.
-Socks are recommended
-Bring: a foam roller (link below, if you don’t have one!)
-If you have them, you’re welcome to bring your own yoga mat, yoga blocks, and yoga strap, but these will be available at the studio
Lyndsey Bowen is an aerialist, movement artist, and instructor based in the Midwest. She specializes in aerial fabric, flexibility, and ballet-based pole technique. She has experience both on and off stage as an aerialist, dancer, director, stage manager, choreographer, and instructor.
