About the event
Do you ever feel disconnected from the way movement feels and the way it actually looks? This workshop will focus on principles of contemporary dance for pole to discover movement that feels authentic. Participants will learn creative, dance-based warm up’s and techniques to spark creativity, then learn choreography focused on “feeling and filling” the music. We will touch on the basics of quality of movement, free-flowing, and act creation.
Pre-requisites:
Participants should have some previous experience with pole and be familiar with a few beginner spins and pirouettes, but participants do not need any advanced skills or experience.
Space is limited!
What to wear:
-Wear socks
-Bring knee pads if you have them (extra knee pads available at the studio)
-If you need shorts to grip the pole for basic spins, make sure to bring your shorts. Otherwise you are welcome to wear sweats, joggers, leggings or whatever you prefer. (Shorts layered under sweats are always a great option if unsure!)
